The event was cancelled — what happens now?

If an event is cancelled and not rescheduled, the organizer decides the remedy. That may be a refund, a credit, a voucher, an exchange, or a replacement event.

Where a refund is approved:

  • it is processed once the organizer has authorised it and provided the funds;
  • it normally goes back to your original payment method;
  • non-refundable fees may be retained where the law allows;
  • timing depends on the organizer, the payment provider and your bank.

If the organizer offers a choice between a refund and a credit, there is usually a deadline. Follow the instructions in the announcement — missing the deadline can mean losing the option.
